GHI's operations are based on the concepts of commitment to service, partnership with healthcare providers, and presenting subscribers with informed choices. That is our mission as a socially responsible corporate citizen of New York State and has been since the company was founded in 1937. In fact, many of the most popular, affordable health insurance models were pioneered at GHI.

In 1999, GHI acquired GHI HMO as a wholly owned subsidiary. Today, GHI and GHI HMO provide health coverage and administrative services to more than 2.6 million individuals, including active employees, their dependents, and retirees. Participation in programs that offer health coverage to traditionally under-served populations is a company priority. We also work to raise public awareness of important health issues.
